Directs for close coordination among line departments; timely completion of projects

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Monday convened a meeting to review the progress and discuss further strategies to ensure the efficient implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

During the meeting, the DC highlighted the importance of mission and emphasized the need for collective efforts from all the concerned to meet the targets effectively. He said that the a commendable progress has already been made in this direction so far.

The meeting assessed various aspects regarding the mission thoroughly including the status of implementation, funds allocation, technological interventions, and community participation besides water quality and testing

The meeting reviewed the current status of the ongoing water supply projects, with a focus on identifying any bottlenecks and finding ways to expedite their completion. It also discussed allocation and utilization of funds for different initiatives under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

The DC stressed on the officers for transparent financial management and to ensure that the allocated resources are put to optimum use.

The meeting emphasized the need for regular water quality testing and monitoring to safeguard public health.

Dr. Owais reiterated his commitment to providing each household tap water and making Bandipora a model district for successful Jal Jeevan Mission implementation. He urged all officers and concerned officials to work in close coordination towards achieving the targets well ahead of schedule and timeline.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Ali Afsar Khan; Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; ACR Bandipora, JD Planning, SE Hydraulic HQ Sopore, Executive Engineers Jal Shakti Department, DPMU JJM Bandipora besides other concerned officers.

On the occasion, Project Manager, DPMU, JJM, Bandipora gave a detailed presentation of the latest progress of all projects in the District
