Agriculture Department Doda organises awareness drive

The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Doda on Sunday organized a comprehensive awareness drive in the Malan Dessa area of Tehsil Bhagwah.

The event, held under the guidance of the District Administration Doda and supervised by Chief Agriculture Officer, Anil Gupta aimed to educate farmers about different government schemes crucial for their prosperity.

The farmers were enlightened about the PM KISAN scheme, which provides direct financial assistance to eligible farmers, besides benefits of obtaining Kisan Credit Card (KCC) for easy access to credit facilities and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) to foster sustainable farming practices.

With main focus on farmer welfare and rural development, the awareness drive provided a vital platform for educating farmers about flagship schemes and programs.

District Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, played a key role in guiding the initiative towards its successful implementation.

Through interactive sessions and informative discussions, the farmers were made aware of the benefits and procedures of availing themselves of the PM KISAN scheme, which offers crucial financial support directly to their bank accounts.

Additionally, they were encouraged to apply for the Kisan Credit Card (KCC), a crucial financial tool that facilitates hassle-free access to credit, enabling them to invest in modern agricultural inputs and technology. Moreover, the farmers were acquainted with the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), launched to promote sustainable agricultural practices and integrated farming techniques to boost overall productivity and income of the farming community.
