SWD Doda organises Capacity Building, Training Programme on NAPDDR

Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with Government Degree College Doda on Thursday organized Capacity Building/ Training Programme under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR).

The programme was held under the Supervision of District Social Welfare officer, Tariq Parveaz Qazi and presided over by the College Principal Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal. The Programme started with a welcome address by Tehsil Social Welfare officer Doda Babu Ram. The participants included teachers, lecturers of different educational institutes, staff of One Stop Centre and District Hub for Empowerment of Women.

The resource person for the Capacity Building was Dr. Shaveta, Mental Health Expert, GMC Doda. She gave a detailed presentation on the theme “Assessment Tools for Early Identification of Substance Use and Associated Factors and Prevention, Treatment, Counselling and Rehabilitation”.

Lecturer DNO Guidance and Counselling Cell, Ajit Kumar, also spoke about the Role of Teachers in curbing the menace of drugs. I/c Drug De-addiction Centre DPL Doda, Simi Thakur gave a detailed presentation on identification of the Drug Addicts and use of test kits.

In his address, Principal Government Degree College Doda Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal stressed on the multi-pronged approach for identification treatment and whole person recovery of the addicts. The programme ended with a vote of Thanks by Dr. Akhter Hussain HoD Department of Urdu GDC Doda.
