DC Ganderbal convenes District level Cooperative Development Committee meeting

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir who is also the Chairman District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) Wednesday convened a meeting of District level Cooperative Development Committee for implementation of various schemes aimed to strengthen Cooperative movement in the country and deepening its reach to the grassroots level.

The chair was informed that the Ministry of Cooperation, Ministry of Electronics and IT, NABARD and CSC e-governance service India Ltd has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) enabling PACS to undertake CSC services.

Under this initiative more than 300 e-services in rural areas including banking, insurance, health services, bus/air/rail tickets etc shall be provided by the PACS.

The chair was also informed that in order to diversify the business activities of PACS to make them vibrant economic entities various initiatives like opening up of Jan Aushadhi Kendra, LPG/ Petrol/ Diesel distribution outlets are being undertaken by Union/State Government for which all the 13 PACS registered in this district have adopted the model bye laws.

The chair directed all the members of the committee to work in close coordination in order to fulfill the various initiatives undertaken under the guidance of Ministry of Cooperation in order to strengthen the cooperative ecosystem. He assured all possible support from District Administration to achieve the set targets.

The meeting was attended by ACR Ganderbal, CAHO, AD FCS&CA and other concerned officers and officials.
