DC Ganderbal reviews preparations for Independence Day, 2023

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today reviewed the arrangements for upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the district in a meeting held at the Conference hall of Mini Secretariat, here.

The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Qamaria Stadium, Ganderbal where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by the march past presented by contingents drawn from District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, NCC, PTS Manigam, Forest Protection Force and students of various educational institutions. Cultural programs will also be presented by the students during the function.

The meeting reviewed the status of arrangements threadbare including reparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, podium, security, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, refreshment, Medicare and availability of ambulance besides deployment of fire tenders and sanitation measures.

The DC, while highlighting the importance of the Independence Day, stressed the concerned officers to finalize all the arrangements before 13th August, the day of full dress rehearsal.

The meeting also discussed the illumination plan of government buildings and it was also decided that flag hoisting shall be ensured on all government buildings in the district.

Meanwhile, the DC directed the concerned to ensure that all arrangements are put in place timely for the celebration of Independence Day at Sub Division, Block and Panchayat levels.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Mehraj-u-din Shah; ACR, CPO, CEO SDA; SE R&B, CEO, Executive Engineers of various wings, EO Municipality, ARTO and other concerned were present in the meeting.
