The first day of thirteen weeks’ round of ongoing Kisan Sampark Abhiyan (Farmers Orientation programme) under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the theme Aatmanirbhar Bharat was held today in 02 blocks of district Ramban.

People turned up in large numbers and were keen to learn about the schemes of HADP and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes as well. The participating farmers were sensitized about various schemes aimed at holistic development and promotion of Agriculture and allied sectors so that the farmers can get maximum profit and create employment opportunities from the Agriculture sector.

The use of audio-visual aids to explain the schemes engaged and engrossed the farmers. Informative booklets in 03 (three) languages regarding the scheme of HADP were distributed among the participants. A Baseline survey/Skill gap study of the farmers was also being carried out simultaneously during the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan.

The farmers were also aware about Daksh Kisan and Kisan Sathi Portal. Farmers were also informed about the mode of application under these schemes using the KISAN SATHI- the IT Dashboard of the schemes developed by APD. A simple scan of the QR codes on the pamphlets takes the farmer to the KISAN SATHI Portal where he can register easily and there is no need for visiting any office for applying under any of the schemes. The farmers were also apprised of DAKSH KISAN- a Learning Management System (LMS) for skill development of the farmers. A first of its kind in the country, DAKSH KISAN, has been developed by Agriculture Production Department, where 118 skilling courses as per the agro-climatic zones of the J&K UT are available for free to the farmers. In addition to this, thread bare discussions and Question Answer sessions were held at every panchayat following each video screening session to address farmers’ concerns. Around 96 farmers were registered during the first day of the thirteen round of Kisan Sampark Abhiyan.
