An event was held here at Government Degree college Magam. An Extensive Special lecture on Language and Litreature was special part on the occassion. This lecture was deliverd here by the Head department of Persian University of Kashmir Prof. Dr. Jegangir Iqbal Tantray who was also the chief gueat on the occassion.

The event was held in the conferance hall of the College. All faculty members of the college attended this event.

This programe was organised to foster better understanding about some of the important issues regarding the language.

Welcome address on the occassion was deliverd by head department of Kashmiri Prof. Izhar-ul-Haq who also introduced the guest speaker and reiterated his commitment to organise such academic sessions in future as well.

The guest speaker Prof. Tantray while speaking on the occassion, elaborated the significance of Persian Language. He delivered a thought provoking and detailed lecture on the topic and highlighted the significance of Persian in the modern era.

Prof. Tantrya extensively spoke on the triadic issues of language, technology and multilingualism in Indian scenario. He enlightened the audience on the role language plays in literature as well as in daily life.

College’s Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammaf Hussain Malik presided over the function while as teachers from different departments of the college were present on the occasion. Prof. Malik extended warm greetings and praised the entire organizing team for their efforts in making this programme successful.

The programme was concluded with a fruitfull discussion on Language and Litreature headed by Dr. Shabeena Kutay, head department of English. All the faculty members took part in the group discussion.

Head, deprtment of Poltical science Prof. Bilqueesa Akhtar presented vote of thanks. In her concluding remarks, Prof. Bilqueesa Akhtar emphasized the importance of acquiring linguistic skills as the application and advancement of computers would be beneficial for students as well teachers.

The event was appriciated at large by the participants.
