Labour Department organises awareness programme for JKBOCWWB workers

To inform the workers about various welfare schemes of Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB), the Department of Labour and Employment Ramban organised a day long awareness programme, here today.

The event aimed to educate participants about the registration process and welfare schemes provided by the Board.

Assistant Labour Commissioner, JKBOCWWB, Roopali Gandotra, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Labour Inspector Roop Sharma besides other staff members and a large number of workers were also present at the event.

The chief guest enlightened the participants about the welfare schemes of JKBOCWWB, both existing and those planned to be implemented in the next financial year.

In her address, she listed several upcoming enhancements to the welfare schemes, including an increase in the rate of scholarships for different classes.

She also informed about a special scholarship of Rs. 50,000 for the wards of registered BOC workers who secure 90% and above marks in 10th and 12th class.

Furthermore, she discussed the re-induction of marriage assistance, emphasizing the importance of registration for construction workers to avail themselves of the benefits offered by the welfare schemes.

Addressing the concerns of the participants, she assured them that the pending cases of various assistance requests in the board would be cleared soon.
