Animal Clinical Camp held at Nagbal Pakherpora

SKUAST-K, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Budgam today conducted Animal Clinical Camp at Nagbal Pakherpora in Budgam.

The clinical camp was attended by Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension SKUAST-K; Dr. Muzamil Maqbool Beigh, Sub-divisional Magistrate Chadoora; Dr. Bilal Ahmad Lone, Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Budgam; Dr. Mir Nadeem Hassan, Scientist Animal Science KVK Budgam; Dr Nisar Ahmad, BVO Chrar-i-Sharief, experts from department of Veterinary clinical medicine, Vety. Surgery and Radiology, Vety. Obestrictics & Gynaecology Faculty of Vety. Sciences & Animal Husbandry Shuhama, SKUAST-Kashmir, Veterinary Assistant Surgeons from Animal and Sheep Husbandry Deptt. Budgam and scientific staff of the Kendra.

During the camp, hundreds of large and small animals were evaluated and treated on spot for various ailments. Free of cost Veterinary Medicine kits which included anthelmintic, mineral mixture, calcium supplementation etc were also distributed among the livestock owners.

The services of mobile veterinary clinics of animal husbandry deptt. Budgam was also kept available during the event for the livestock owners. On spot parasitological examination of the faecal samples of the animals was also conducted to find out the parasitic load for prescribing the proper anthelmintic medicine for the livestock of the area.

Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi evaluated and treated various animals which included horses suffering from ailments which needed surgical intervention.

Dr. Muzamil Maqool Beigh, SDM Chadoora during his visit hailed the efforts of KVK Budgam for conducting the much needed camp for the livestock owners of the far-flung area.
