DC Shopian chairs meet; urges media to contribute in nation building & bringing positive changes in society
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today held an interactive meeting with media persons of the district, at Mini-Secretariat Shopian.
The Interaction programme was organised by District Information Centre, Shopian and media persons from various national and local media outlets participated in it.
At the outset, the media persons from print, electronic and online media deliberated on various issues with the DC.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that the media has a significant role in helping administration in deliverance of transparent and accountable governance to the people. He urged the media to contribute in nation building and bring positive changes in the society more vibrantly and vigorously by highlighting the issue of public importance.
The DC said that District Administration is always available and accessible for coordination with all stakeholders especially media who are directly or indirectly engaged in promoting positivity and highlighting developmental issues.
He added that the media is the bridge between the people and government and it is the responsibility of the media to inform and educate people on public issues with integrity.
The media fraternity expressed their appreciation for the engagement and extended their cooperation in all government endeavors.
Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha, District Information Officer, Showkat Hussain Ganie, Officers and Officials of Information Department were present in the programme.
