“Mahu Mangit will get tehsil status, if DPAP comes to power”
A meeting of party workers of Democratic Progressive Azad Party was held in Mangit, Banihal on Sunday where hundreds of its workers participated.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chairman G.M.Saroori said that it was due to former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad that Banihal got many projects approved in the past of public importance. He said we are hopeful of seeing the constituency developed on modern lines, if Mr Azad is back to power with majority. “So we have to ensure DPAP is emerging as one of the largest political party in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. We have to work for that and ensure more and more people are joining it,” he said. Chief Spokesperson Salman Nizami said that ever since Azad went back to Delhi, back home successive regimes exploited the poor people and overlooked public issues. So we can’t trust them anymore and need to work for change under the leadership of Azad. He said, If DPAP comes to power, Mahu Mangit will get tehsil status, also will connect Mangit road with Khari and Banihal. He also promised Stadium, tourism development authority to Mahu Mangit also Degree college. The workers resolved to support the party in upcoming elections and said that they have full faith and trust under the versatile leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad. Among others who were present on the occasion were Dr Asif Khanday, Munner Bhatt, Alyas Banihali, Farooq Wani, Bashir Naik, Ayoub Naik, Asghar Rasool, Manzoor Sheikh, Khurshid Sehmat, Shariq Mir, Bilal Ahmed Wani & others.
