Kashmir the land of snow-capped mountains, serene lakes and pristine beauty has been in turmoil for decades with the local populace experiencing violence perpetrated by terrorist activities. The people of Kashmir are now fed up with terrorism and want to lead a normal life in mainstream society. Pakistan, in its attempt to turn the beautiful valley of Kashmir into a battleground, has left the locals in a state of upheaval for decades, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives and causing immense trauma and loss to the residents. The impact of terrorism on the Kashmiri population is vast and far-reaching. The targeted killings by terrorists of innocent civilians including women and children have caused a huge fear psychosis among the populace. Many Kashmiris have suffered significant losses with many losing their loved ones, homes and businesses.

The residents of Kashmir have been raising their voices for the cessation of violence and a return to peace for a long time now. People want to move on from the agony of conflict and build a sustainable, prosperous future for themselves. The Central government has taken positive steps to alleviate issues in Kashmir. To bring stability to the valley, the government has addressed the core issues of unemployment, poverty and economic stagnation through the introduction of employment policies, small business initiatives and incentives for international companies to invest in the region. Furthermore, the government is working with all stakeholders including leaders across the political spectrum. This will bring about support for positive change and encourage peaceful cooperation among all parties.

The younger generation of Kashmir, represent the future of the Kashmir valley are being especially nurtured. They are being introduced to the peaceful and meaningful state of affairs in other states/ UTs of the country and this is providing a connect between them and the rest of India. Aspiring Kashmiri youth want to emulate and eventually achieve the same level of success as other youth in the rest of the country. The government is providing opportunities for young people by promoting study, employment, entrepreneurship and participation in mainstream society.
