Celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Basharat Qayoom today felicitated around 55 students and sports persons for their exemplary performance in different competitions of sports, art and literature.
The felicitation programme was organised by District Administration Pulwama to reward extraordinary students of Pulwama district for their talent and excellence in the respective fields.
The DC, who was also chief guest on the occasion complimented students for their enthusiasm, vigour and interest in various sports activities.
He also appreciated students who participated in World Mix Boxing, Powerlifting besides Singing, Designing, Sketch and other activities.
Dr Basharat asked the coach to help youngsters by providing them opportunities and a platform for exploring their hidden talent.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Sheikh Abdul Aziz also appreciated the students for their best exhibiting skill & talent.
On the occasion, an interaction programme was also held in which students of the various schools shared their experience of different sports activities.
Later, the DC distributed prizes and certificates among these talented students who had been adjudged as best performers.
At the conclusion, Principal Government HSS Hawl presented the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and teachers and students for gracing the occasion.
Among others, Chief Education Officer, Pulwama, Abdul Qayoom Nadvi and staff, coaches and other concerned were present in the felicitation programme.
