DHS Doda holds one day orientation programme on Tele-MANAS

The District Health Society Doda organized a one day orientation programme here in the ANMT School to sensitize the healthcare workers about the Tele-MANAS- a new programme initiated by the Union Government.

The programme was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ab Hamid Zargar; Dr Zia Shoket Mughal (District Mental Health Officer); Dr Javed Ahmed Parray; Mohd Shafi Attu (HE); Jahangir Mehta (DPM NHM); Jonson Chandail (Divisional ASHA Coordinator); Mashhod Latif (BMEO NHM) besides MLHPs from Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat and Thathri block.

Other than the topic of Tele-MANAS, the participants were also educated about the NCD programme, Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight and National Digital Health Mission.

District Mental Health Officer GMC Doda, Dr. Zia Shoket Mughal, as a Resource Person, briefed the participants about the Tele- MANAS initiative of GOI under National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) that aims to achieve the objective of up-scaling mental services. He also underlined the responsibility of healthcare workers in implementation of the programme.

He briefed about some common mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, depression etc and stated that mental health can be influenced by a variety of factors, including genetic environment, lifestyle trauma and staying positive & maintaining good mental health is the need of hour for maintaining a balance between personal and professional life.

Dr. Javed Zargar spoke on the occasion about the ongoing Intensified Diarrhoea Control Programme besides DPM NHM Sh Jahangir Mehta, who spoke about National Digital Health Mission programme.

CMO while speaking welcomed the participants and gave brief introduction of the orientation programme and topic discussed on the occasion. He encouraged all the participants to be sincere and upscale their knowledge for improvement and proper implementation of the programme on gross root level.

Jonson Chandail presented the formal vote of thanks.
