SWD Kulgam organises Awareness programme on drug abuse at GDC Kulgam

 Social Welfare Department (SWD) Kulgam in collaboration with the District Administration Kulgam and Government Degree College Kulgam today organized a day-long awareness program on drug abuse in the College conference hall.

Principal Government Medical College Anantnag, Dr. ( Prof.) Tariq Syed Qureshi was the chief guest on the occasion.

Programme was also attended by resource persons from  Addiction Treatment Facility centre of GMC Anantnag.

Principal  Government Degree College Kulgam, Prof. Syed Eazaz Hussain Rizvi, extended a warm welcome to all the participants and emphasized the significance of conducting such programmes  especially for college students.

The participants included students of Government Degree College Kulgam, particularly the NCC and NSS volunteers, as well as the college faculty members.

Meanwhile Khursheed Ah Ganai, former Advisor to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, virtually addressed the program.

He commended the efforts of the  Principal and staff of the Government Degree College Kulgam along with Social Welfare Department  Kulgam for consistently taking the lead in organizing such programs.

Resource persons from Drug de-addiction centre Kulgam and experts shed light on various aspects of the drug menace including its social, psychological and clinical dimensions.

The discussion was followed by a  question-and-answer session, where the expert team addressed the queries raised by the students.
