KUPWARA, JUNE 07: To commemorate ‘World Food Safety Day’ being celebrated across the world on 7th June every year, the Food Safety Department Kupwara today organized an awareness programme on “World Food Safety Day” at Government High School Gulgam, Kupwara.     The theme of the event was ‘Food standards save lives ’.   World Food Safety Day aims to transform food systems to deliver better health sustainably and prevent food borne diseases. This day also provides an opportunity to strengthen efforts to ensure that the food we eat is safe and reduce the burden of food borne illnesses globally.     During the program, awareness was imparted to the students on various dimensions of food safety.     The Department of Food Safety (Drug and Food control Organization J&K UT) launched a campaign to inspire students to have knowledge on safe food and better health concepts.     The speeches on World Food safety Day were delivered by Assistant Commissioner Food, Rafi Ahmad Dar, Headmaster Government High School Gulgam, Gysas u-Din, Food safety officer Kralpora, Abdul Ahad Shah, Food Analyst, Safia Akhtar.         The program witnessed huge participation of students who enthusiastically listened to all speakers deliberating upon the significance of food safety for better health.
