In an ongoing Lecture series organised by Government Degree College Magam, two lectures were delivered here in the conference hall of the college. This Extension Lecture series is here organised to foster better understanding about some of the important and thought provoking subjects, and promote teaching learning process.   Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Mohammaf Hussain Malik presided over the function while as teachers from different departments of the college were present on the occasion.   The first Extension Lecture was delivered by Dr. Rather Tajamul Islam, Lecturer Department of Economics with the help of powerpoint presentation on “National Income” in which he gave a detailed description of National Income and allied concerns. He meanwhile answered the queries posed by the audience regarding the lecture title.  The Second Extension Lecture was presented by Head, Department of Urdu Prof. Niyaz Ali Parah. He presented a write up in Kashmiri language entitled  “‘Makan kalus hapat Kan”  in a very sweet and broadcasting voice. Makan kalus hapat Kan has a folktale style but yet confirms the modern aspects of the short story. The story sends a reader into an old fantacy world of folktales and  events that seem unnatural. But for an intelligent reader unnatural events are just hurdles to facts and reality. Deep reading of the story unfolds the truth and everything seems to be possible.   The event was started with the welcome address by the principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Hussain Malik  and ended with the vote of thanks. The participants termed this effort of the College as a successful effort and a motivational initiative.
