Kupwara: The annual Urs-e-Mubarak (death anniversary) of well-known Sufi saint Hazrat-e-Zati Shahwali (RA) is held as every year in the month of June at Muqam-e-Shahwali, Drugmulla in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Thousands of devotees including men, women and children participate in the Urs and observe the display of ‘holy tabarukat’ of Hazrat-e-Zati Shahwali (RA) after asar prayers. Major General Girish Kalia, Vishisht Seva Medal, GOC 28 Infantry Division with Brigadier Gaurav Jain, Sena Medal visited the holy shrine of Hazrat e Zati Shahwali (RA) on the occasion and offered prayers for people’s wellness, harmony and wished the devotees on the auspicious urs of Hazrat e Zati Shahwali (RA). The GOC interacted with the locals especially the youth and encouraged them to start their own entrepreneurial pursuits to further enhance tourism and trade in the valley.
