G20 Summit: Security Beefed Up in Summer Capital, Elite Forces’ Cargo Deployed Around Dal Lake

Srinagar, May 19  Ahead of G20 Summit, security vigil has been on an all time alert in summer capital Srinagar, officials said.   The officials told agency that Jammu & Kashmir Police’s Elite SOG Commandos (Cargo) have been deployed in all major hotels across Srinagar. “Contingents of Special Forces’ have also been deployed in (house-boats) and around Dal lake to avert any misadventure by any anti-national element”, they said.

“Security grid is on an all time high alert to thwart any attempt that may be made by anyone on the eve of the prestigious event”, the officials said adding “With the heightened vigil we expect that it will be a smooth event.”   Notably, the global level G20 Summit is scheduled to start on May 22, 2023 upto May 24, 2023.
