DLTFC meet held at Shopian  Approves rate, unit revision of minor minerals

SHOPIAN, MAY 16: A meeting of the Multi Departmental District Level Task Force Committee was held today at Shopian to discuss the revision of rates of minor minerals as well as to revise unit of measurement from CFTs to MTs.  The meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb.  During the meeting, DMO Shopian and MO, Kashmir apprised the committee about the need for the revision of rates and measurement unit.  The chair approved the revision of the measurement unit from Cubic Feet (CFT) to Metric Tonnes (MTs) and the rates of minor minerals, applicable in district Shopian only.  The rate of five 05 minor minerals viz; Sand, Crushed bajri, Nallah Muck, Clay and Nallah boulder has remained unchanged while rates of Nallah bajri and crusher boulder has increased slightly after the approval by the district committee.  The meeting was attended by concerned officers and officials of Geology and Mining, Revenue, Forest, Police, Information and Engineering departments.
