Ganta Ghar, other vital projects in city to be completed before G20 meet: CEO, Athar Amir Khan

Srinagar, May 15 : Cheif Executive Officer, Smart City Limited Amir Athar Khan Monday said that renovation work on Ghanta Ghar and other vital projects undergoing in city will be completed before G20 summit, which is scheduled to be held in Srinagar from May 22.   He said many projects had been prioritized for G20 summit and added many projects are almost on the verge of completion or they have been completed.   “Projects vital for G20 are on the verge of completion. Many projects had been prioritized for G20 summit,” CEO Smart City Limited Athar Amir Khan as per news agency  said while taking part in a plantation drive held in Gupkar Srinagar.   “The sprucing of Airport road & flyover and illumination of city has already been done. Recently Polo-View market was inaugurated. Certain stretch at MA Road is also completed,” CEO said and added, “The work on Riverfront project is going on in full pace and will be inaugurated before G20 summit”.   He said the Gupkar junction has also been completed while as illumination if 7 to 8 buildings in main city has been already done. “In coming 4 to 5 days left riverfront project will also be completed” he added.   Sharing details, the CEO Athar Amir Khan said that out of 120 projects the work on 70 projects is underway. “Most of the Smart City Projects will be completed by December 2023, while as other 16 projects will be taken to end with in the deadline period by June 2024”, he added.   Over removal of encroachments in old city areas, Khan replied that safeguarding livelihood of people is also our responsibility. “Development and removal of encroachments will be managed simultaneously. We will ensure both things will be taken care of,” he added.
