KUPWARA, MAY 8: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, various officers including SDM Karnah, Revenue Officers, Horticulture/Agriculture Officers and field staff today visited various rain/hailstorm affected areas of the district for assessment of the damages caused to the orchards.             SDM Karnah conducted extensive tour of the village Nawagabra, Churkungi to take stock of the position due to inclement weather. He also interacted with local people and inspected educational institutions in the area.           The Chief Horticulture Officer visited various areas including Gugloosa and Shumnag for assessment of damages caused to the recent hailstorm in the villages.           It is pertinent to mention that Deputy Commissioner Kupwara has already directed Tehsildars, Revenue officials and field functionaries to visit their respective areas and assess the losses occurred to agriculture/horticulture fields and other properties due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm in the district and directed them to furnish the report within 3 days for further process.
