Budgam, 8th May 2023: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession, vehicle also seized.  During naka checking at Harran, Police Party of Police Post Soibugh intercepted one vehicle ford Ecosports bearing registration number DL10CT-4968 with one person onboard who was coming from Hakermulla towards Harran. During search of the said vehicle, controlled drug 330 strips of tapendadol (3300 tablets)  and 25 strips  of Spasmo-Proxyvon (200 capsules) were  recovered from the possession. The driver has been arrested on spot and vehicle used for commission of crime has also been seized.The arrested driver has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ghulam Nabi Sheikh resident of Sector D Hamdaniya Colony Bemina. Later it came to fore that the said accused person is a chronic drug peddler & he was selling the illegal drugs among the youth of district Budgam. Various FIRs have already been registered against him in different police stations in district Srinagar.   Case FIR number  114/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.
