Srinagar, May 04: The recent attack on Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) DDC member and senior leader Er Aijaz Hussain in Balhama, Srinagar has been strongly condemned by the party’s spokesperson Abhijeet Jasrotia. Terming it as an act of frustration by the opposition, Jasrotia said that the assault on Er Aijaz was highly deplorable and deserves all forms of condemnation.  In a statement, Jasrotia said, “Er Aijaz and I had gone to check the veracity of the allegations of corruption in a project at Balhama but he was attacked with lathi’s and iron rods in which he had a narrow escape.” He further added that the attack on Er Aijaz was a direct outcome of his growing popularity and BJP’s rising popularity in Lal Chowk constituency of Srinagar.  Jasrotia urged the police to ensure timely completion of the investigation and strict action against the culprits involved in the assault. He said, “Er Aijaz is committed to end the land mafia and corruption in his constituency and attacking him with stones, iron rods, and lathis is the direct result of his efforts to ensure corruption-free governance, transparency in all government works, and projects.”  Expressing his confidence, Jasrotia said that Er Aijaz or any other leader of the party won’t be afraid of such attacks and will work hard to carry forward the mission and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to every nook and corner of the Valley.  The BJP spokesperson also demanded that the police reach out to the root of the case and ensure strict punishment for those who were involved in the attack on the BJP leader at Balhama.
