KULGAM, APRIL 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review the implementation of Jal Shakti Abhiyan, (Catch the Rain) in the district.   During the meeting, the DC instructed concerned to visit  springs and tube wells which are source to various drinking water  schemes to find out the requisite interventions for sustainability of these Water resources and to formulate comprehensive and meticulous plan.   Dr Bilal stressed on the need for making extra efforts for water conservation and rainwater harvesting.  He also  called for advance planning to catch the rain under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan and efficient water management.     While  Highlighting the importance of community participation for the success of the campaign in the district, the DC stressed  to create awareness and involve the general public to give momentum to the campaign.  During the meeting, the DC also reviewed progress and  achievements of targets made by the line  departments under Jal Shakti Abhiyan.  He further asked the  departments to work in cohesion and make dedicated efforts to conserve and preserve water for the present and future generations.  The meeting was attended by ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; JDP, Zahid Sajjad; ACR, Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz; ACD, Mohammad Imran; CEO, Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti, Irrigation and Flood Control, DAO and other officers
