Ganderbal, April 3: Mohammad Amin Shah district president Ganderbal of BJP appreciated district police for their role in holding awareness programs across the district against drugs. Substance abuse has become a serious problem to our UT as according to a recent survey nearly ten lakh people are addicted to drugs. Shah in a statement to media said that, “District Police Ganderbal under the leadership of SSP Nikhil Borkar, Asp Feroz Yehya and DSP HQ Gh. Hassan has done a commendable job to aware young boys about drugs, prevention is the first step to stop the abuse and police by conducting awareness programs across the district has done a great favour to the people of Ganderbal. JK Police on one hand is busy in crushing the drug peddlers while by organising such events, sports activities and programs they are trying to save the youth from substance abuses.” Ganderbal police recently conducted a series of awareness programs on drugs in Ganderbal where young boys and girls were educated on the subject. Shah added that it has become a serious problem for people of J&K as well as administration. Boys are involved in taking drugs like heroin, cocaine etc while in early times cannabis was very tough to acquire. He requested parents, elders and civil society to come forward actively and help the dynamic police officers of the district to make Ganderbal drug free. Shah said that SSP Ganderbal and all his police officers are highly professional and he believes that they will soon clear Ganderbal from drugs.
