DC Shopian chairs DLRC & DCC meeting to review performance of Banks, line departments

SHOPIAN, MARCH, 28: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today Chaired District Level Review Committee (DLRC) and District Consultative Committee (DCC) meetings to review the performance of Banks and line departments for the 3rd quarter ending 31st December 2022 of FY 2022-23 here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian.

During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on progress and achievements made by the banks in the implementation of various government sponsored schemes.

DDC emphasized upon the banks to increase the lending in agriculture and allied activities and also exhorted upon them to work in synergy with the departments and conduct camps to spread awareness among the people about various banking schemes to increase the credit plan flow in various sectors.

He urged upon the all participants to ensure timely sponsorship and early credit dispensation of cases during the current financial year to achieve all the set targets leading to generation of self-employment opportunities in the district.

The meeting discussed in detail the progress and achievements made by the banks in the implementation of various government sponosored schemes like KCC, MUDRA, PMJDY, PMSBY.

The deposits of the district show a decline of 4% on YOY basis while the advances registered a growth of 7% on YOY basis.

The priority sector advances of the district changed from Rs۔1313۔61 crores as on December 31, 2021 to Rs۔1282۔70 crores as on December 31, 2022 thereby showing a decline of ۔30۔91% on YOY basis & ۔10% on quarterly basis from Rs۔1429۔30 crores as on 30th September 2022۔

Non Priority sector of the district increased from Rs۔405۔76 crores as on December 31, 2021 to Rs۔554۔86 crores as on December 31, 2022 thereby registering a growth of 37% on YOY basis & 17% on quarterly basis from Rs۔472۔24 crores as on 30th September 2022۔

Against the financial target of Rs۔2052۔86 Crores and physical targets of 34542 beneficiaries under DCP 2022-23, the banks have disbursed Rs۔930۔13 Crores to 29396 beneficiaries during the 3rd quarter of financial year, thereby achieving the financial targets by 45% & physical targets by 85%۔

The meeting was attended by Joint Director, Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana, LDM Shopian, Farooq Ahmed, DDM NABARD, Rouf Ahmed, Cluster Head J&K Bank, district coordinators and concerned officers of various line departments.
