DC Gbl launches special sanitation drive at Kheer Bhawani Temple

GANDERBAL, MARCH 20: Continuing with its endeavour to ensure all-round cleanliness in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today launched a day long sanitation drive at Kheer Bhawani Temple Tullamulla and its adjoining areas.

Civil departments, PRI members from Tullamulla, NGOs, Civil Society Tullamulla, Students, Municipal Council Ganderbal, Milk cooperative society Tullamulla besides local youth participated in the drive.

All the participants collected the waste and cleaned paths, drains, Tulamulla Nallah and other identified locations in and around the Kheer Bhawani Temple during the drive.

The waste collected was carried in dumpers for further disposal at identified locations.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that all identified locations where heaps of garbage was dumped have been cleaned during the drive. Besides, the aim of launching this mega sanitation drive is to spread the message of public involvement in sanitation and sensitize them about the importance of cleanliness.

He also urged the locals to carry cleanliness drives in their areas to ensure all-round cleanliness of the district.

Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; Chief Planning Officer, Irfan Giri; ACD, ACP, besides district officers of line departments participated in the drive.
