Ganderbal, March 6: District President Ganderbal Mohammad Amin Shah visited Guzhama village located in the outskirts of the district situated on the banks of the river Jehlum. The village is far from the main town Ganderbal and due to distance the village has been always neglected. While talking to the locals Mohammad Amin Shah was told that they are suffering and there is hardly any attention paid to them by the administration. Locals also pointed out that their long pending demand for a bridge has been neglected and the bridge that connects them to several other villages on the other side of Jehlum is still under construction despite its deadline. Locals have raised this problem on multiple times in the eyes of administration but nothing concrete was done. The villagers also demanded a bridge between the graveyard presented in old side of the village and the residents living on the new village connected to Bandipora highway. Villagers said they have to cross in boats for burials which is sometimes very dangerous. The road is in bad shape and no new fresh black topping of the road has been done recently which is causing a serious problem to travellers. The villagers also demanded a ration depot or fair shop in the village as they have travel more than two kilometres for ration.
Mohammad Amin Shah assured the locals that timely intervention will be taken on the problems raised by locals. In this connection Mohammad Amin Shah will meet deputy commissioner and roads and buildings officers soon. Shah in his statement to media said, “The deputy commissioner Ganderbal Mr Shyambir, Additional DC Mr Mehraj ud shah,ADDC Mr Simnani and their team are doing great job for the district. The bailey bridge is an excellent example of how serious the the district administration are in relation with development. I will meet him very soon and will raise the issues faced by locals of Guzhama.” He is sure that he will get positive response and timely intervention. He is confident that all issues concerning the local population of village Guzhama will be taken by deputy commissioner Ganderbal, added Shah
