MVD launches major crackdown on traffic Rule violators at B’pora

BANDIPORA, MARCH 03: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Bandipora has intensified its drive against violators of Motor Vehicle Act and other traffic rules especially focused on over-speeding, installation of speed limiting devices, overloading and non compliance to other traffic rules.

According to a statement issued by the district administration, the Enforcement team of MVD and Traffic Police conducted physical checking of vehicles and checked at least 45 vehicles at different routes including Bandipora-Sopore road and Bandipora-Srinagar road.

Documents of several vehicles were retained for further processing under the provisions of MV Act 1988 and rules framed thereunder.

An amount of Rs. 20000 as fine has been realized from offending vehicles/drivers.

The ARTO said that drive shall continue in Towns and Rural areas of the district and strict action as per the law shall be taken against the erring drivers for road safety violations.
