War against drug continues in District Baramulla

During intervening nights of 24th & 25th February 2023, based on a specific information regarding presence of narcotics at house of Maqsood Ahmad Bhatti S/O Bhag Ali R/O Madiyan Kamalkote Uri Police party led by *PSI Shubham Seth, IC PP Kamalkote under the overall supervision of Sh. Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri alongwith Executive Magistrate raided the said house. During search of the house, cash amounting to Rupees Fourteen Lacs & Seventy Six Thousand & Eight Hundred Fifty only (INR 14, 76,850/-) and 850 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substance was recovered which was seized in presence of Magistrate and the above mentioned Drug Peddler was taken into custody immediately.

To this effect case FIR No. 22/2023 u/s 8/21, 29 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Uri and investigation set in motion.

during preliminarily investigation it was learnt that under a well hatched conspiracy, Pakistan based handlers are pushing drugs inside JK through such smugglers to spread drug addiction amongst youth of Jk

Further investigation into the matter is on.
