Appeals stakeholders to cooperate in rooting out   drug menace

DC Kathua flags-off Nasha Mukt awareness rally

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 17:  Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today flagged-off a Nasha Mukt awareness rally comprising a large number of school children.  The rally formed part of Anti Drug campaign launched by the District Administration Kathua. The rally started  from Sports Stadium and marched through different markets of Kathua city amid chanting of awareness slogans about ill effects of the drugs and emphasizing the need to live a drug free life.  While throwing light on the initiative, the DC said that the ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan’ is a special initiative by the LG Administration to make Jammu & Kashmir a drug free Union Territory. He said Drug menace is a social problem and stakeholders have to play their quintessential role in countering this menace. He further said that the sustained efforts are being made by the administration to rehabilitate the persons affected by drugs and enable them to live a dignified life in the society.  The DC further appealed to the people, especially parents, to extend their sincere cooperation to the administration in tracing out the affected youth so that they can be counseled and rehabilitated.  DSWO Kathua Abdul Rahim, CEO Kathua P. L Thapa and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
