At a “Budget pe Charcha” programme in Srinagar , Sethi interacted with a group of people, including intellectuals and traders, and shared his views on the budget.   On the occasion Manzoor Bhat said this was the first budget of “Amrit Kaal” — the 25-year period up to the centenary of India’s independence.   This budget will empower the youth, create employment opportunities and develop infrastructure. It will also benefit farmers, he said.   The panel constituted of dignitaries from diverse fields. The session was moderated by Er. Sahil Bashir Bhat. The enlightening panel discussion helped the audience demystify the Union Budget 2023.  The deliberations touched upon the fact that the Budget 2023 is an extension of the previous three budgets and has a clear direction towards growth and validates the emerging India story. Several key areas were discussed where the Government has increased the budget allocation like capital expenditure for rail and road infrastructure for capacity building, digitalization of healthcare and agriculture whilethe reduction in budget allocation to  MREGA and subsidies as a balancing act to contain the fiscal deficit. The Budget supports the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Amrit Kaal and is indeed a bold and growth-oriented budget.
