KUPWARA, JANUARY 31: A total of 2087 kms of road length have been cleared of Snow till afternoon today across district Kupwara.  As per the statement issued by District Administration Kupwara, Mechanical Engineering department have cleared 461 km under Priority-I and 123 km under Priority 2nd and 3rd. likewise, R&B has cleared 1126 kms; PMGSY 193 kms; BRO 120 kms and ULB 64 kms.  Regarding status of power supply, all six 33 KV feeders are functional whileas, out of 93 11-KV feeders, 61 feeders are active whileas, work for restoration of other feeders are going on.  Regarding water supply schemes, 53 schemes are functional and work for restoration of 9 schemes is in progress.  The statement also reads that food grains are dumped/stored in border areas like Karnah, Keran, Machil, Jumgund and Kumkadi which will cater the requirement of the people till ending April.  Meanwhile, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, ADC Handwara, SDMs monitored the snow clearance operation in their respective areas.  It is also pertinent to mention that the Joint Control Room is functional at DC Office Kupwara with numbers 01955-253522/ 9419268121/ 7780937892.  Meanwhile, all sub divisional/ divisional officers and district officers are stationed at their respective headquarters to monitor the situation.
