The government’s efforts in the field of sports are quite fruitful as the youngsters, who were deprived of the basic infrastructure here in Jammu and Kashmir for the last many decades, are now able to showcase their talent at every stage.

The Jammu and Kashmir was witnessing a dearth of sports field, but now the scenario has changed as the present dispensation on the directions of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has taken a series of steps and has provided double playgrounds in J&K, bringing cheers on the faces of sports players.

In his Man Ki Baat, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji stated that apart from Snow capped mountains and natural beauty, there is much more to know and admire about Kashmir. The PM stated that in Syedabad, Pulwama of Kashmir the Snow Cricket was held in winter games. Snow cricket is more entertaining, this makes it even more interesting that those games help to identify players who shall play for Team India in future.

It is quite pleasant and joyful to hear such a statement from the Prime Minister, which points towards the seriousness of his government to bring more changes in the sports field for the youngsters and also shows how much the central government is concerned and focused towards the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.

Snow cricket is an extension of the Khelo India Movement. Therefore, the administration back in Jammu & Kashmir should take proactive measures to give a further boost to snow cricket in which the youngsters with a good talent can showcase their skills and prove themselves.

In this regard, the administration should also focus on giving a different taste by organizing snow cricket tournaments to highlight the talent of youth and also make the mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi successful vis-à-vis Kashmir.

There is no iota of doubt that the sports activities have gained pace in J&K while the central government has also released huge funds for the sports category in the Union Territory, pointing towards the special focus of the government towards providing a new and better infrastructure to the people.
