Karnah Kupwara: Under the aegis of Mission Shakti of Ministry of Women and Child Development Government of India, NSS unit of GDC Tangdhar in collaboration with District Hub for Empowerment of Women Kupwara organized an awareness program today on 25-01-2023 to observed National Girl Child Day. The program was attended by good number Mission Shakti volunteers besides NSS volunteers, NCC Cadets and college staff. NSS Program Officer delivered a detailed lecture wherein he emphasized upon various aims and objectives of celebrating National Girl Child Day. He also talked about various initiatives taken by the Government to give equal opportunities to girls and also preventive and punitive measure taken to eradicate discrimination against girl child. Principal of the college Prof. Haroon Rashid in his address stressed upon rights and opportunities provided by the Government for girls and asked the female students to avail benefit of all the schemes and educate others in society about these schemes as well.
