JAMMU, JANUARY 19: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa, today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of National Clean Air Programme and status of works under City Action Plan.  The Deputy Commissioner instructed the ARTO to robust the activities to improve air quality including development of EV charging infrastructure in the city to encourage e-rickshaws/e-vehicles, setting up of adequate number of PUC testing centers, registered vehicles with PUC certificates etc.  The Deputy Commissioner instructed the J&K Pollution Control Committee to furnish year wise details regarding air quality improvement, number of industries complying with emission norms and number of industries shifted to clean fuel.  The Commissioner JMC was asked to submit the details of activities and expenditure incurred under NCAP, capacity building and outreach programs, implementation of SBM plan and status of bio-mass burning etc.  The District Supply Officer was asked to submit the details regarding the number of fuel stations and inspection of fuel adulteration.  The DC emphasized on the need for proactive action by the implementing agencies. She asked all the line Departments to submit detailed action taken reports regarding measures undertaken regarding Air Pollution Control.  She also stressed the Officers to ensure all hotspots related to air pollution are covered so that necessary measures are incorporated in the City Action Plan.  Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav, besides senior officers of other concerned departments attended the meeting.
