Three day multimedia exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by Central Bureau of Communication concludes in Kupwara

Kupwara, January 19,2023  The three day long multimedia exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at Government Degree College, Kupwara concluded on Thursday.  The exhibition was organised for mass awareness about Amrit Mahotsav and welfare schemes of the government.  Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Sh. Ghulam Nabi Bhat presided over the proceedings on the concluding day which was dedicated for the awareness about various initiatives being implemented by the department of Health.

Addressing a gathering of health workers, ASHAs, volunteers and students, Sh. Bhat appreciated their services and urged them to work for the behavioural change in the society against various social evils like female infanticide, discrimination against girl child, substance abuse and to promote healthy lifestyle among people.  District Tuberculosis Officer Kupwara Dr. Firdous Ahmad presented a detailed overview about schemes being implemented by the health department for the wellbeing of people. He laid special emphasis on Ayushman Bharat-Sehat and schemes for Maternal and Child Healthcare.

He impressed upon the people to avail benefits of different schemes.  Sh. Fayaz Ahmad, District Programme Officer, ICDS, Kupwara apprised about nutritional support programmes for children and pregnant and lactating mothers. He detailed out the targets and objectives under POSHAN Abhiyan and called for a change of behaviour at societal level for elimination of malnutrition, wasting and stunting among the children.

He said that the department keeps a vigil for the first 1000 crucial days of a newborn through a network of field workers.  Sh. Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC said that during the three day outreach programme, the Bureau engaged various stakeholders like PRI members, ICDS field officials, farmers, revenue officials, NRLM volunteers, health workers and ASHAs for mobilisation at the grassroots level regarding awareness about various schemes and programmes for the public welfare. He said that the Bureau will be organising similar programmes in Srinagar and Pulwama districts in the coming weeks.

During the three day programme, empanelled Private Registered Troupes of CBC organised theme based cultural programmes for public awareness through the traditional and folk media.
