‘Chai Pe Charcha’ was organised by Indian Army at Panzgam Garrison.

The event included interaction with Sarpanch of villages surrounding Panzgam Garrison.  A total of 11 Sarpanches attended the event.   Aim of the interaction was a quarterly meet for interaction between the locals and the military as also to enhance coordination between them.   Discussion was carried out on variety of topics to include peace in the valley as also the growing network of narcotics in the region. A detailed discussion on the subject with the locals highlighted about the misuse of drugs and its trafficking among the youths. The same is very disappointing and in future society/new generation will suffer from it and it was concluded that military, police and civilian have to come together to save the generation from Narcotics.  It was concurred by all that the peace in valley has led to development and thus peace should sustain in the valley.  It was highlighted by the Chief Security Officer that the locals have an important role in ensuring that terrorists do not get support in disturbing harmony in the region.  All Sarpanches informed that military has been very forthcoming and positive in their approach. They all thanked the entire military leadership for their assistance in maintaining peace in the region which has resulted in development.  They were also happy with the work being done by the DC, Mr Diafode Sagar Dattatray, IAS and highlighted that the DC office is working hard to meet the aspirations of the locals. The event concluded with tea and a group photograph.
