KUPWARA, NOVEMBER 02: In order to review the status of the newly declared NH-701 (Rafiabad-Kupwara-Chowkibal-Tangdar-Chamkote) RKCTC road, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today convened a meeting of concerned officers at D.C Office, here.

The DC held threadbare discussion with regard to all packages of the Highway and received detailed feedback from the concerned OC and other officers.

He stressed upon all the officers to work in tandem with added zeal to ensure timely completion of the road project. He directed them for alignment of the road project on futuristic lines to ensure benefit to the maximum population of the district.

He said the High way and Byepass roads have far reaching impact on the development of the district,  especially Kupwara Town will grow up.

The DC directed the OC BEACON to ensure more field visits in the respective areas so that stakeholders could be taken into confidence for larger benefits of the public.

The DC asked the OC BEACON that various deputations have met him for redressal of grievances which needs to be looked into. He asked him to improve the curves in package 2 .

Various other things related to the ambitious project  were also discussed in the meeting.

Regarding construction of bypasses, the meeting was informed that 6 bypasses are involved in the road project including Langate, Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora, Handwara and Chowkibal bypasses.

Officer Commanding BEACON, Major V V Sharma,  Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Kupwara, Tehsildar Kupwara, DIO and other concerned attended the meeting.
