KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 12: After successful culmination of Mahatma Ghandhi Shanti Yatra in district Kulgam, the District Administration Shopian today received Gandhi Mashal to continue the peace March.

The event took place at Village Sehpora where the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather and CEO Kulgam, M Ashraf Rather handed over Gandhi Mashal to Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian and CEO Shopian.

Officers from the Education and Police department including Principals, Headmasters and hundreds of teachers and students from both the districts were present during the event.

Chief Education Officer Kulgam said that till October 2, which is declared as International Day of Non Violence, with the goal to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non violence, different events will be organised in district Kulgam to spread the message of Gandhi Ji among all.

The move received great response from Schools as well as from the general public as students participated with great enthusiasm in the Yatra.
