GANDERBAL, AUGUST 22: As part of comprehensive SVEEP activities being undertaken in district Ganderbal, special orientation cum training programme of booth level officers of assembly constituency Ganderbal was held in the meeting hall of Mini secretariat Ganderbal.

The training programme was presided over by the District Election Officer, Shyambir.

The objective of the programme was to sensitize the booth level officers regarding their role in the upcoming special summary revision being undertaken from 15th of September 2022 in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

The BLOs were sensitized to analyze the gap between gender ratio of Electoral Roll and Census and develop a proper mechanism to bridge this gap in the upcoming Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the DEO appreciated the role of BLOs in the delimitation and rationalization process and expressed his hope that BLOs shall make the SSR a success by maximizing the enrollment of voters to achieve the objective “NO VOTER TO BE LEFT BEHIND”.

He Stressed upon the BLOs to educate people about the law regarding eligibility criteria and conditions for registration of Electors in Electoral Roll as per the Representation of the People Act, 1950

To ensure maximize enrollment of eligible voters, the DEO enjoined to undertake specific measures targeting youth population, women, weaker sections of society and persons with disabilities to maximize their enrolment in electoral rolls in the upcoming special summary revision.

It is pertinent to mention that SVEEP activities are being conducted in the length and breadth of the district Ganderbal in collaboration with various government departments, NGOs and Civil Society organizations.

Among others the meeting was attended by Dy District election officer Ganderbal, ACR Ganderbal and AEROs of AC Ganderbal and other concerned.
