One Month training programme for SHGs concludes at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 05: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna today visited the Preservation, Utilisation and extension centre (processing unit) of Horticulture Department here on Friday to review the activities at the centre.

During the visit, the CHO apprised the DC about the various activities undertaken by the department. He informed the DC about the month-long training imparted by the department to the trainees in the food processing and preservation. Besides, he also told her about various free mobile demonstrations conducted by the centre. He said that as many as 55 numbers of SHGs participated in the training programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC congratulated the organizers for organizing the training camp for the members of SHGs and said that such programmes would go a long way in generating self employment and creating a self reliant society. She called upon the trainees to come forward and take the benefits from different government schemes for their socio-economic upliftment.

The DC interacted with the SHGs members and impressed upon them to learn different Horticulture techniques at Advance Centre of Horticulture Development, Udhampur.

On the occasion, the DC handed over a tractor and two power tillers to the beneficiaries under different schemes.

Later, DC distributed certificates to the trainees  who successfully completed the 30 day training programme.
