PULWAMA, JUNE 17: The District Administration Pulwama in collaboration with the Department of Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Pulwama today organized an awareness programme on various employment generating schemes at the Wahab Sahib, Pampore.

Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Addressing the function, the DC said that the aim of the programme is to provide awareness to the youth about various self-employment schemes of the Government so that they can be benefitted. He said that the Youth clubs have already been formed at Panchayat level and will help in dissemination of information about the schemes at ground level.

He appealed to the unemployed youth of the district to come forward and take benefit under various ambitious schemes of the Mission Youth.

The DC stressed that the organization of such programs are the need of the hour to address the issue of unemployment in UT of J&K especially far-off areas.

On the occasion, awareness regarding various self-employment generating schemes and skill development programmes run by Govt of J&K across the UT was raised among the participants by the officers and officials from various line departments.

The speakers urged unemployed youth to come forward and avail benefits under various schemes being implemented by line departments.

The participants were informed that the unemployed youth should register themselves and submit their choice of business unit they are interested in with the respective LDM office.

During the program, DE&CC resource person Aalya Amin apprised the participants about the various skill development schemes launched by Govt. of India. The participants were also made aware about the training schemes and financial support that the government is providing to trainees and future entrepreneurs.

Among others, the programme was attended by General Secretary Gujjar & Bakerwal Yasin Paswal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Pulwama, Dr. Peerzada Farhat Lead District Manager, Pulwama, Khursheed Ahmad, District Officer, KVIB, Ahmadullah Malik, AD Handicrafts/Handloom Mohammad Yaseen, Tehsildar Pampore, Zubair Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Labour Hafsa, besides all line departments and a large number of unemployed youth.
