SHOPIAN, JUNE 16: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a meeting of District Level Review Committee/ District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) convened by Lead District Manager Shopian, here.

While reviewing the performance of Banks and Government departments under various schemes, the DDC directed for speedy disposal of government sponsored cases. He advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work in coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets for development progress and eradication of unemployment.

Earlier, while welcoming all the heads of line departments, District Coordinators of various Banks of the district, Lead District Manager presented the performance of all banks and line departments of the district for the quarter 4th that ended as on 31st March 2022 of FY 2021-22.

Lead Bank Manager informed the house that the deposits of the district remained at Rs.1571.76 Crores as on 31st March, 2022. Under priority sector advances of the district increased from Rs.1234.58 crore as on March, 31st, 2021 to Rs. 1322.09 crore as on March 31st, 2022.

It is in place to mention here that against the financial target of Rs. 1736.75 crore and physical targets of 31485 beneficiaries under DCP 2021-22, the banks have disbursed Rs.1383.24 crore to 40748 beneficiaries during the 4th quarter of financial year, thereby achieving the financial targets by 79 percent and physical targets by 130 percent.

On the occasion, the DDC impressed upon the concerned that much is needed to be done in the district in financial inclusion sector as there are many uncovered areas in the Banking Sector.

Vaishya said the line departments have to be more proactive so that all the benefits are passed on to the grassroots level of the needy people. He also stressed for conducting more awareness camps so that people are able to avail all the schemes meant for the well being and welfare of the general public.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Hussain; Joint Director Planning; DDM, NABARD; LDM,  district level officers of various departments, District coordinators of all Banks operating in the district.
