Sham-e-Gurez, a spectacular and unique musical night, was celebrated by the Indian Army today in Gurez as part of the Jashn-e-Gurez festival being conducted from 01-20 June in Gurez.

The star studded evening witnessed a crowd of more than 4000 locals, Tourists, officials of the Indian Army, BSF, CISF, JKP and Civil Administration who swayed and danced to the music of Kashmir’s acclaimed and popular artists such as Waqar Khan, Waseem Khan, Nargis Khatoon, Khan Amir and many more.

The event also witnessed the first of its kind Firework Show in Gurez which lasted more than 30 mins concomitantly with the mesmerising musical saga.

The Magical evening was especially dedicated to the Awam of Gurez by the Indian Army to express their gratitude for the unflinching support of the locals of the valley. The theme for the evening was “Ek Shaam Gurez ke Naam”.

The high energy event culminated into a Dance fest and the grand closing ceremony was done with the National Anthem and aerial fireworks. The viewers were awestruck and mesmerised with the colourful and energetic performances and said that this was by far the best Festival in the history of Gurez Festivals.
