Meeting was attended by UT President Mallah Sb, UT Vice President 2nd Gh Nabi Bhat sb, Vice President Province Hilal Nabi sb and DPs of Kashmir Province. The meeting focused on the Digitization of Jamabanies which has been thrust upon the Patwaries recently. It was unanimously decided that AJKPA welcomes the Land Records Modernization Program and use of modern technology in the Revenue Department. However, for the transition from manual to computerised record updation proper training and providing of necessary equipments is a must. It was decided in the meeting that AJKPA is never against any improvisation/improvement and same is the case with Digitization of Jamabandies. But for the process of digitization the basic members must be provided with operators and necessary equipments and Digitization centres must be established at Tehsil and District level to carry out the process. As u all are aware of the fact that more than 50% of the basic members are unaware of the computer knowledge and more than 90% do not know the urdu typing/inpage. Under such circumstances how come is it possible for the basic members to carry out the Digitization of Jambandies that too in a very short period of time. It was decided in the meeting that all DPs will submit a common memorandum to their respective DCs requesting them to provide necessary technical operators, equipments and accomodation for said Digitization. Further, the worthy UT President and Province President Kashmir assured the basic members that they do not need to worry as they are meeting the worthy FCR in coming week and he will be made aware of the difficulties being faced in the process of Digitization and providing of sufficient time for the process. The worthy UT President and the Province President assured the basic members that they will do all that is needed to make the basic members of the UT to feel relieved. At last the Province President thanked all the participants.
