JAMMU, JUNE 10: Under the dynamic leadership and overall supervision of Director General Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization and Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Saleem-ur- Rehman, Spine Surgery L5- S1 level Decompression with left sided Discectomy was conducted at Government Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal.

Patient was suffering from L5 S1 Prolapse disc with left extremely painful Radiculopathy since last 2 months.

The patient was operated as conservative measures like medications and physiotherapy had failed to relieve the extreme pain.

Urgent 3 hour long Surgery was done by Consultant Spine Surgeon Dr. Navdeep Singh along with Consultant Anaesthetist Dr. Ravinder Gupta and Anaesthetist, Dr. Shelly Mahajan.

This is the second Spine surgery conducted at Government Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal which is the only Government Hospital in Jammu Province outside Government Medical College Jammu where such type of surgery is being conducted.
