Indian army extended help to the Government Higher Secondary School, Khumriyal, Kupwara by setting up tents for additional classrooms as the school was falling short of space to accommodate the strength of students for the academic session. The step was an endeavour of the Indian Army towards ensuring the unhindered education in the region and exhibits Indian Army’s commitment towards welfare of the society.
The status of Govt. Secondary School, Khumriyal was upgraded to current level of Govt. Higher Secondary school to extend the classes till 11th and 12th in the year of 2019. This resulted in a total strength of 800 students from various nearby panchayats of Lolab and Kupwara to depend on this school for their secondary education, but the infrastructure development didn’t keep up to the pace of requirement. Thus, resulting into acute shortage of space for classrooms and other amenities.
Thus, the Indian Army is making all possible efforts to ensure that no barrier comes in the way of the education of these students. The aim is to encourage the students of the area and to facilitate their studies by enhancing the existing capability with the possible means to negate these temporary hindrance till the actual classrooms are ready.
This gesture have been well appreciated by the locals and the school authorities who have recognized the support of the Indian Army in various fields for development of the society.
