We all are aware that the vicious cycle of terrorism in Kashmir is directed and funded by the ISI of Pakistan. The terror group heads siting in Pakistan are on pay roll of ISI passing directions to their stooges in Kashmir and the puppets follow their masters siting in Pakistan for pesky gains and create unrest in Valley. Pakistan is a failed state as a nation and is vigorously facing serious economical, political, and social and internal security issues. It has nothing worthwhile to offer to its people. Therefore, it keeps on feeding anti India tantrum to its populace in order to keep them mentally preoccupied. Sinking economy, sectarian violence and religious radicalisation in Pakistan are at all time high and in order to keep the masses’ attention diverted from the main burning domestic issues; the religious card is now being played in Pakistan. Pak sponsored militancy in Pakistan is being painted as a religious struggle and stress is being given to radicalisation of the local population of Kashmir.
In the presently ongoing process of radicalisation at the grass root level in Kashmir; it is the women folk who have suffered the most. Earlier Kashmir was known for its progressive outlook as a society. Women had a major stake in the family matters and society granted equal status to women. However, there is a negative trend as far as treatment of women in the Kashmir society is concerned. Burqa, Naqab and hijab are being forced on the woman due to religious sermons given by radical religious preachers who try to brainwash the innocent, young minds on religious pretext. The terror outfits have taken the responsibility of religious policing and try to earn the status of religious leaders of the masses and justify their terror action as an act of God.
Re-Talibanisation of Afghanistan post pulling out of American Troops is being seen as a big victory of hardliners in the subcontinent. Taliban has enforced its own barbaric rules and regulations on the masses and taken the Afghan society further down in the dark streets of misery. The radicalization is being pushed down the throats of Afghan people by Pak supported Talibans regime. It is totally against the basic human rights of Woman. Some of the glaring features of this barbaric radical rule of Taliban are as Girls secondary schools have been closed and no higher education for girls is being provided. No co-education facility since co-education is considered as root of all evils in the society. Music is out lawed in Afghanistan and no females in radio station of Afghanistan. Ministry of woman’s affairs has been abolished. Forced dress code for all woman. Lack of safety at work and public places and unfair salaries and unpaid labor. Domestic violence and abuses and public flogging or even shooting of women. No right to inheritance, maintenance, access to medical facility etc.
International community is a silent spectator of tearful plight of Afghan women and no one has sounded any word against the atrocities of Taliban. The situation is no better in the interiors of Pakistan as well where radical leaders call the shots and woman rights and liberties are being violated. Womens right activists are being silenced forcefully and there is no scope for justice. The international community has to take note of all the atrocities committed against women and approach the government of their countries to restore rights of woman in the society
The hardline preachers siting in the interiors of Kashmir are preaching radicalization are trying to push the state of Kashmiri woman towards same fate in the name of religion and this narrative has to be defeated in time. The local people have to wake up to this reality and resist such rude and unjust philosophies for ensuring equal right and opportunity to their girl children so that positive government development initiatives continue to be successful.
